Meet the Doctors

Dr. Beverly Scott

Dr. Beverly Scott is the owner and director of Gilbert Veterinary Hospital. She has been in practice for more than 25 years. She is a graduate of and a proud supporter of the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Scott comes from a family of veterinarians. Her late father, Dr. A.D. Allen, her brother Dr. Kent Allen and her sister-in-law Dr. Rae Stone are all veterinarians.

Dr. Scott has been actively involved in organized veterinary medicine and has been President of the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association, Central AzVMA, and Arizona's Delegate to the National AVMA. Dr. Scott was also honored by her peers by being named Veterinarian of the Year in 2004.

Dr. Scott and her husband have 2 children, and are all kept company by their Corgie "Evie", cat, "Belle", and their chickens "Pepper" and "Red".

Dr. Julie Bode

Dr. Julie Bode is a graduate of Ohio State University. She has always loved animals, and when she graduated from high school she knew she wanted to enter a science related field: biological research or human medicine. In her freshman year at Ohio State she started volunteering at the veterinary school, assisting vet students and doctors with sick foals. From then on, she was hooked.

Dr. Bode enjoys educating clients on preventive health care for their pets. She also has a special interest in soft tissue surgery.

Dr. Bode four legged companion is her Great Dane, "Ziggy."

Dr. Amanda Dudley

Dr. Amanda Dudley graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Her godmother had a dairy farm where she spent numerous summers helping care for the calves. She has always loved animals and wanted to be a veterinarian as long as she can remember.

Dr. Dudley enjoys helping clients with behavior issues with their pets. She also is interested in surgery.

Dr. Dudley lives in Gilbert with her husband, children, cats, and dogs,"Spud," "Bailey", and "Judas".

Dr. Kimberly Focht

Dr. Kimberly Focht is a graduate from Colorado State University. She has always enjoyed animals and loves being able to work with owners and educate them to better care for their pets. She also has a special interest in internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Focht has been very involved in the Veterinary Technician Program at Mesa Community College. She taught for some time and now remains on the Board of Directors.

Dr. Focht has been practicing small animal medicine in the East Valley for the past 14 years. She also worked at Gilbert Veterinary Hospital years ago as a technican before she went to vet school.

Dr. Focht, her husband, and her two sons live in Gilbert with their two dogs, two hermit crabs, a desert tortoise, a hairless rat, and some fish.

Dr. Alison Foster

Dr. Alison Foster graduated from Colorado State University. She also completed a yearlong internship in small animal medicine and surgery at West Los Angeles Animal Hospital. She started working as a kennel assistant at the age of 16, and has always wanted to be a veterinarian.

During veterinary school, Dr. Foster worked with exotic and marine animals at the Phoenix Zoo and the Alaska Sea Life Center.

Dr. Amy Van Gels

Dr. Amy Van Gels graduated from Colorado State University. Her grandfather was a farm veterinarian in Pennsylvania and taught her the love of animals and veterinary medicine.

Prior to joining Gilbert Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Van Gels practiced in Ahwatukee using her maiden name Dr. Amy Arnold. She enjoys animal behavior, ophthalmology and dentistry.

Dr. Van Gels lives in Chandler with her husband, daughter and her two dogs, "Aella" and "Brisco".
